About
In Love and Death is a small sustainable oddities business based in East Gippsland, VIC, Australia.
My main focus is entomology works such as framed and domed butterflies, spiders, scorpions, beetles and more. I also do other occasional oddities such as fossil products, traditional taxidermy pieces, skulls and skeletal articulations.
Ethics and Sustainability
Before purchasing my stock from suppliers I confirm that the specimens are naturally deceased or ethically dispatched. Insects are supplied from breeders around the world, I only purchase insects that my suppliers confirm are naturally deceased.
Seahorses are sourced from captive breeders in Australia and are also naturally deceased, In Love and Death does not support poaching.
Some products such as rabbits feet, etc. have been responsibly hunted or farmed for either pest control or food. Taxidermy is a great way to use all parts of an animal and prevent waste of pelts, bones and other non-edible animal materials.
Native and CITES Species
I do not stock native Australian species or CITES listed species.
The exception to this rule is native Australian insects that I can legally obtain and sell, such as the Ulysses butterfly.
Some domestic animals can also be legally excluded from this rule, such as pet Budgerigars, etc.
